Classic New York, Elevated
Sidecar dining room was born organically out of a demand from a portion of our guests who had great affection and appreciation for the tradition and spirit that is P.J. Clarke’s yet wanted these attributes in a slightly more refined setting. The second floor of the original PJs at 55th Street: a dust-filled ‘found’ room steeped in memories and footprints from the past became the obvious and perfect answer.
Reimagining Tradition
In a room that was once the Clarkes family apartments, then an antiques store and finally a bookie joint, we had to do little except refinish the old wood block floor, fill the cracks in the brick walls, uncover the original fireplace and, of course, install a bar.
A Retreat from the Ordinary
The discreet entrance on 55th Street, denoted by brass antiques sign, ushers guests up to the warmth of this quiet refuge with leather banquet seating, crisp white tablecloths and all the hallmarks of attentive, club style dining.
P.J. Clarke’s Sidecar offers semi-private dining rooms with intimate settings, exceptional menus, and warm hospitality – perfect for business gatherings, special occasions, and a refined night out.
